The Locktenders
 

​When Tina Franklin decided to form an acoustic band, with her husband Kent back in 2015, her efforts were born out of a strong desire to be creative and get back to doing what she loved the most, singing and creating memorable performances.  However, managing a full-time job while fighting to pursue her passion has proved a real balancing act.  "Your efforts are scattered and sometimes you're spread thin between responsibilities and obligations that take precedent over anything creative. It takes a great effort to redirect yourself toward creativity, but it is so important to have that outlet, especially as we get older.”, says Tina.   
Through the years The Locktenders (formerly 2 from the Heart) has managed create a small but loyal following, performing original music and carefully crafted covers at area venues in and around the Washington, D.C. area.  
With The Locktenders, she hopes to entertain and encourage others to move from their comfort zones setting free their own creative sides.
